Mypher (“Mypher,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile applications (iOS, Android), web client, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Because Mypher is a decentralized, wallet-native, peer-to-peer messaging platform, we operate differently from traditional messaging services:
We do not require phone numbers, email addresses, or passwords.
We do not store your messages on centralized servers.
We do not have access to your private keys, wallet seed phrases, or end-to-end encryption keys.
By using Mypher, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

We design Mypher to minimize the collection of personal data.
Information You Provide:
Wallet Address: Required to authenticate you via a supported cryptocurrency wallet.
Profile Data: Optional display name, avatar, ENS name, Lens profile, or similar on-chain identity metadata you choose to share.
Messages & Media: All messages, voice notes, and media are end-to-end encrypted and stored only on your device or on decentralized storage if you choose to enable it. We cannot access or read them.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
Phone numbers
Email addresses
Passwords
Message content or history stored on our servers
Metadata such as who you message, when, or where
Minimal Technical Data
To facilitate real-time messaging, we may temporarily process:
Network routing information (e.g., IP address, relay node IDs) while delivering a message;
Non-identifiable session data (e.g., device type, app version, OS type) for troubleshooting.
This data is never stored persistently and is deleted automatically after delivery or session closure.
We use the minimal information we handle to:
Authenticate you via your connected wallet;
Facilitate the sending and receiving of encrypted messages;
Display your chosen profile name, avatar, and on-chain identity;
Diagnose technical issues and maintain app performance;
Comply with applicable legal obligations (to the extent possible within our decentralized architecture).
We do not use your data for targeted advertising, behavioral tracking, or profiling.
With Other Users
When you send messages or share content, your chosen profile information (wallet address, ENS name, avatar) is visible to recipients.
With Third-Party Services
When you connect your wallet, interact with NFTs, or use decentralized storage, you interact directly with third-party services such as:
Wallet providers (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect)
Blockchain networks (e.g., Ethereum, L2 solutions)
Storage providers (e.g., IPFS, Ceramic)
These services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Legal Compliance
Due to our architecture, we have no stored content or metadata to disclose in most cases. If we are legally required to assist with an investigation, we will comply only within our technical and legal limits.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.
Local Storage
By default, your messages and media are stored locally on your device. If you lose or replace your device without a backup, this data will be lost.
Decentralized Storage (Optional)
If you enable decentralized storage, your data will be encrypted and stored on a blockchain or distributed storage network you select. These networks may have different retention and deletion capabilities outside our control.
No Central Backups
We do not store your conversations or keys on our servers. If you delete your messages locally, they cannot be recovered by Mypher.
End-to-end encryption for all messages by default.
Local key generation and storage — keys never leave your device;
Peer-to-peer message delivery without central servers;
Optional integration with privacy-focused decentralized storage;
No advertising SDKs or third-party analytics tracking user behavior.
While we follow best practices, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your wallet, private keys, and devices.
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to:
Access the information we hold about you (which is minimal);
Request correction of your profile data.
Request deletion of local app data.
Object to or restrict the processing of your data;
Port your data (e.g., exporting your message history).
Given Mypher’s decentralized design, many of these rights are exercised directly by you within the app (e.g., deleting local data) rather than by contacting us.
Mypher is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor is using Mypher, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Mypher is available globally. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:
Your wallet address and any on-chain activity may be viewable worldwide on blockchain networks.
Your messages may be routed through relay nodes in various countries.
Privacy protections may vary depending on jurisdiction.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in laws, technology, or our Service. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify you via the app or our website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
